Watch the birds

On a beautiful frosty winter morning as I was looking out the window, I recalled what Christine put in a card for me when she was in Sue Ryder.  "Watch the birds for me" it said.  We'd look out the window together and watch the sparrows and starlings strip the cotoneaster on the garage roof, of all its red berries.  Until we meet again.
