Today I joined a number of Christine's ex Library colleagues for a walk over Shurdington Hill followed by a meal at the Bell. It was lovely to meet and talk to everybody. Ten 'girls', as Christine would have called them, came along. I was really touched by how much they all loved her and enjoyed working with Christine even though it was probably ten years ago when they worked together. A lovely day.

A family Sunday
Yesterday, Mum, Jane and Richard came down for the day. I cooked a Sunday roast for us all. Will joined us when he could between revising for his exams - he's nearly there just three more weeks.
In the afternoon Gill, Iain and the kids popped in on spec, a real surprise. We went for a walk, picked a few plums and listened to Callum and Steph play the piano - it was good to hear the piano again, the last time it was played was when Christine sat down with kids, nearly a year ago, to play tunes together.
A lovely day.

Supper at the FT's
William and myself spent a very enjoyable evening last night at the FT's - watching the Commonwealth Games womens Hockey final. It was shouts all round as England were one nil up, then seconds from the final whistle the Aussie girls popped a goal in. England lost on penalties. Claire could hardly bear to watch.
I still shed a tear everyday sometimes it's only just for a couple of seconds and other times for longer - but everyday all the same. Odd things spark it off, seeing Christine's jewellery, books and clothes - you remember something about your life together. I here myself say 'oh Chris do you remember when we...........', sounds strange but it seems quite natural to me.
I was hoping that now that I'd finished work I'd be able to start working for myself doing gardening and getting on with my own painting but the broken bone in my wrist has put this on hold. Not to worry I've just got to be patient it'll all come together in the end. I feel Chris or something is somehow with me looking over me.
Thanks folks for being there for William and myself - you can't get through this on your own.
