I spent an enjoyable day with Jonathan and William. On a beautiful summer morning we arrived at Burley Fields for 10.00 am and set off for the Ride for Ryder charity cycle ride. The route took in Tewkesbury, Haw Bridge and Wainlodes. We completed the ride in 2 hrs 30 mins including a fifteen minute stop for refreshments on the way - not a bad time I feel.
We raised a total of £735.00 including Gift Aid. As an example a syringe driver costs £750 each, a syringe driver allows pain relief to be administered continually with precision - this indicates the cost of providing care. It was a pleasure to be amongst at least three hundred riders all there for the same reason, to raise money for Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice. There were moments when I felt immense sadness - but it was something I wanted to do.
In the afternoon I chewed the fat with Jonathan, we talked about Christine and my future without her. It's a very hard journey. Thanks to everyone for your support you continue to give William and myself.
And, yes that is a deer walking out the frame of the first picture!

Mums
Drove up to the Midlands on Friday night to stay with Jane. On Saturday we spent a busy day sorting out mums house, in readiness for the move - throwing things away, going down the tip and putting stuff aside for grandchildren.
On Sunday spent an enjoyable afternoon with the Gatehouses at the Food and Drink Festival.

A wet weekend
On Friday I cooked a meal for Don and Laura and we followed up with an evening chatting and playing board games.
Saturday morning came with a heavy down pour which put paid to an early cycle ride.

A sunny weekend
Alan and Rowenna came on Friday evening. They are over in the UK for a few days to look into Rowenna doing an internship with the BCM mission. On Saturday spent the morning with Alan and Rowenna - which was lovely.
In the afternoon went out with Jerry on the bikes. Through Tewkesbury out along the road towards Ledbury and back through Corse and Maisemore. In the evening it was wild cooking at the FT's roasting sausages over the chimenea and washed down with a few beers. A super day.

On Sunday picked William up from Bath - Christine's Clio was bursting at the seams with all his stuff! Jane and Richard came down for the afternoon, we had our evening meal outside for the first time this year which is always lovely.
Thanks again all.
