A day in Bath

I spent a lovely day in Bath with William. We walked along the river and around the city - taking time to enjoy the wondrous interior of Bath Abbey. We lit a candle for Christine and we shed a few tears. In the evening we invited Ross to join us for fish and chips in the car to watch the sun go down - a great Turtino tradition.

FOD ride

The FT's joined the Turtino's for a blast around the FOD cycle trails - we enjoyed the ride so much that we went around a second time.  A great day - thank you.

Staffordshire walk

On Thursday I went to the Midlands to stay with my old school friend Dale for the night. During the day we went for a long walk around the Trysull area, taking in Awe Bridge and the Bratch locks on the Staffordshire Canal and the The Plough at Trysull. In the evening we went for a tasty curry in Sedgley.

It was a full english breakfast at the Railway Cafe at Bratch before setting off for home. Thank you Dale and Deb.

Busy weekend

A busy but enjoyable weekend.  Friday Dale my old school friend came down for the day - which was great. Saturday went for a long cycle ride in the morning, in the afternoon I went to Anil's for tea and snacks and in the evening I went to Hayley's for a curry.  On Sunday I visited Anita and John for lunch.  Thank you all for your love and friendship.

Winterbourne House and Garden

I joined Jane, Richard and Jessica for a very enjoyable day looking around Birmingham University campus, taking in Winterbourne House - an arts and crafts building owned by the University. Afterwards we visited the Barber Institute - wonderful stuff.  We finished the off the day with a pub meal in Harbourne.  Jessica gave me a difficult jigsaw puzzle - a picture of hundreds of Cadbury's Roses, for my birthday.   Thanks all.

Birthday

It was lovely to see Jane, Richard, Tim and mum who came down for our birthday.  We went for a walk around the church and thought about Christine.  I've started the mega jigsaw puzzle Jane gave me for my birthday.

Yorkshire Dales

Last week I drove up to Jane's and joined Jane and Richard for a lovely week in the Yorkshire Dales. Stopping in a small cottage in Thwaite we enjoyed walks in the wonderful dales. We did Gunnerside following Gunnerside Gill and up to a high path that skirted the side of Gunnerside, a beautiful walk in balmy winter weather.    Jessica joined us for a couple of days and we followed the River Swale towards Keld and turned back on ourselves to follow the escarpment back to Muker (joining the Pennine Way for a short while).

We visited many spectacular waterfalls and just caught site of three canoeist's going over a large fall that was in full spate - agh.

This is the first time I have visited the dales since I was twenty two when I walked the Pennine Way. I'd forgotten how beautiful it was - a very relaxing week with my dear sister and brother in law.  Thank you both.   Chris was in our thoughts and conversations - she would have loved the area.

I cried when I got home I really miss my lovely Christine.
